Jumpamon
Jumpamon from Brian Neong San on Vimeo.
Happy Easter! Jumpamon is has landed!
I had a bunch of videos of iconic locations on my iPhone from my travels around the world. I originally thought I could make a short movie out of them but they were very shaky, the handheld type of shots.
So I thought it could work better as a short animation with those videos as the background. Nothing more fun than designing a little monster destroying those cities! Well it was more fun rigging, animating and compositing this little fella in After Effects with the Duik tools. Voila! :)

Jack in da box
Finally, here is an update with some artwork from a R&D piece that Hendrik and I worked on at Soap Creative for the Monster Art Show to celebrate Halloween.
My role as the concept artist/designer was to come up with the character visuals while Hendrik modelled and rigged the character to implement into Unity to work with the Kinect. It was lots of fun as it was more of an experimental interactive piece of art for the opening night of the exhibition.
Here is an actual quick screen recording of the work in progress:

Birds... not angry
Those are some old bird illustrations done for a pitch.
Amazing how sometimes when you dig back trough old stuffs, you can find them more interesting than they were originally... maybe after I've been playing Angry Birds too much.

Windy reading
I had this dreamy vision in my head and I was itching to quickly sketch it to get it out of my mind...

| Reading on a windy day... |
It was a windy day yesterday and I saw a little girl reading her book, totally immersed in it with no care about what was happening around her. I don't know why but this stuck in my little brain and I had to draw that emotion I felt whilst seeing that scene.... and share it :)

Finance illustrations sneak peek

| Finance and management illustrations- sneak peek |
This is a sneak peek of a series of illustrations I worked on for a finance newsletter.
It shows some insights on the process of starting out with the rough sketches and then moving on to the create a unique visual treatment. I have to say that I'm far happier with the printouts as the colors and textures turned out richer than on screen.

ImagineFX
It felt good to hold the issue 60 of ImagineFX where a digital painting of mine was featured.
